Shelter Dog’s Heart-Melting Reaction as Potential Adopter Notices Her Will Make You Happy Cry
Every dog has their own idea of the best day of their life. For some, it’s receiving an assortment of their favorite toys from their favorite human. For others, it’s enjoying an uninterrupted dip at the local beach on a hot day. For shelter dogs, though, their idea of the “best day ever” revolves around this one thing: walking out of the shelter doors with their forever family by their side. Nothing matters more to a shelter pup than getting noticed by a potential adopter and eventually bidding the shelter life goodbye.
A lovely shelter dog has left the internet sobbing in joy after a recent video captured her overwhelmed with excitement when a visitor took notice of her. Please grab some tissues before viewing; we have a feeling you’ll tear up (watch the video below).
The Best Feeling in the World…
About three days ago, Arizona-based rescue @desertdogproject shared a video of one of their dogs, Layla, inside her kennel, unable to contain her excitement when she realizes she’s won the interest of a potential adopter. A text layered over the heartening TikTok clip reads: “POV: When you’re a shelter dog and someone finally notices you…”
In the video, sweet Layla is seen wagging her tail furiously upon seeing an interested adopter approaching her kennel. Then, her whole body follows suit and goes into full-blown wiggle mode, as though she knows her stay at the shelter is coming to an end.
And she was right.
Desert Dog Project announced that Layla got adopted, so at least all those tail wags and body wiggles didn’t go to waste!

Since being uploaded to TikTok, the video has amassed over 65,000 views and generated hundreds of positive responses in the comment section.
One person wrote: “All shelter dogs deserve a furever loving home.”
