Weeks stretched into months, and as the puppy’s injuries progressively healed, there was a ray of optimism with every day. And then, one day, out of the shadows of her suffering, her once-battered body became a monument to the strength of love and compassion.
She rushed forth again, her spirit intact and her heart full of thanks for all who had supported her through the worst of times, tail wagging and eyes sparkling. She represented resiliency and offered hope in a world far too frequently tainted by grief.
Thus the dog who had been a victim evolved into something greater with a new moniker to represent her victorious escape from the ashes of hopelessness. She was Phoenix, a live example of the unbreakable spirit that everyone of us possesses and is just ready to emerge from the ashes and take off again.
