Homeless Dog Runs Toward Us Trying To Ask For Help | Howl Of A Dog
A lone girl emerged from the shadows amid Romania’s busy streets, where the echoes of suffering and neglect resound through the alleyways and avenues, her once-proud soul broken and wounded by the cruelties of fate. For months, homeless dog Heidi had been walking these streets, her misery disregarded by those who passed her by yet her presence welcomed.
Heidi sought comfort on the streets amid the mayhem of the city, but she was also imprisoned there, mired in a cycle of neglect and disdain. Her one infraction was getting mange, which left her alone and devastated, her once-glossy coat now a patchwork of scars and scabs.
But Howl Of A Dog, a haven for the abandoned and forgotten, was a ray of brightness among the shadows. Hearts full of compassion, they raced to Heidi’s rescue, their hands out in friendship and their spirits unflinching in their will to change her life.
Heidi dared to think that maybe, just possibly, her days of misery were finally coming to an end as they drew near, her tail wagging hesitantly. Her heart weighed down with grief but full of hope for a better tomorrow, the rescuers plucked her off the streets with kind hands and consoling words.
Heidi had a swollen breast, which alarmed them when they looked at her more attentively and they thought she could have had pups someplace. But they were perplexed as to why it had taken so long for someone to help her when they checked the area and discovered no sign of any children.
Heidi’s illness was caused by her not being spayed, a typical hormonal reaction to her heat cycle, they discovered at the veterinary facility. Even still, Heidi’s road to recovery had only just started, her spirit intact and her resolve to live greater than it had ever been.
Heidi had a tremendous metamorphosis over the course of many weeks of therapy and care; her once-ill body was now robust and well, and the love and compassion that around her restored her spirit. And she realized that her days of loneliness and abandonment were long gone as she came out of the shadows of her past.
Heidi only wants a family to call her own now, a caring household where she may at last discover the stability and happiness she so richly deserves. Since in the end, our ability to endure adversity defines who we are, Heidi’s story is proof of the tenacity of the canine spirit and the transforming potential of love and compassion.
